How Do You See obstacles?

14 Jul, 2022 | Return|

On August the 5th, 17 Confidence Booster Singers will have an opportunity to PERFORM and SHINE for an audience.  As they prepare for their performance, they will encounter obstacles.  How they experience obstacles will determine how they proceed.  How they proceed will determine their results.

Obstacle is defined as: a thing that blocks one’s way or prevents or hinders progress. How do you SEE obstacles? Do you see obstacles as a problem or as something put before you to assist you in your development?

How you experience obstacles will make all the difference in how you perform and ultimately how you live your life.  Since we ALL have to deal with obstacles, here are some quotes to meditate and think on so you can develop NEW ways to experience obstacles…

“Obstacles, of course, are developmentally necessary: they teach kids strategy, patience, critical thinking, resilience and resourcefulness.”

                 -Naomi Wolf

“Stand up to your obstacles and do something about them. You will find that they haven’t half the strength you think they have.”
                 -Norman Vincent Peale

“Life’s ups and downs provide windows of opportunity to determine your values and goals. Think of using all obstacles as stepping stones to build the life you want.”
                 -Marsha Sinetar

“Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it. Go through it, or work around it.”
                 -Michael Jordan

“God has equipped you to handle difficult things. In fact, God has already planted the seeds of discipline and self-control inside you. You just have to water those seeds with God’s Word to make them grow!”
                  -Joyce Meyer

“There are plenty of difficult obstacles in your path. Don’t allow yourself to become one of them.”
                 -Ralph Marston

“Press on. Obstacles are seldom the same size tomorrow as they are today.”
                 -Robert H. Schuller

Standing in front of an audience and releasing/singing, from the depth of ones being a heartfelt song, is a courageous act.  Singers who remind themselves that obstacles appear to assist and not destroy, will develop and strengthen themselves in whatever endeavour they choose to pursue.

Keep on Singing,
