Roxanne Goodman, also known as The Confidence Booster Founder, is a jazz vocalist, musician, worship leader, choir director, teacher, author, and motivational speaker. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a Major in Music from Concordia University.
A passionate and dedicated facilitator, Roxanne is committed to empowering performers and helping them uncover and develop their true voice.
Her work spans multiple roles, including teacher, musical coach, motivational speaker, music producer, and choir director. She is also a proud Toastmaster and the recipient of the 2012 Community Engagement Award for her contributions to building healthy communities through song.
Drawing from her own experiences as a singer, performer, and entertainer, Roxanne teaches that true performance goes beyond simply singing a song, it requires connecting with your authentic self to truly move an audience. She helps individuals develop a fuller, clearer voice for both singing and speaking, while also guiding growth in confidence, perseverance, team building, and self-esteem.
Through her coaching, clients gain tools for conflict resolution, overcoming performance anxiety, and effective communication. By helping people find their true voice and make decisions based on purpose rather than fear, Roxanne empowers them to live more joyful, confident, and fulfilling lives.
Confidence Booster by Roxanne Goodman is also a platform for musical exploration and performance excellence. A key example is the Studio Sessions series, launched with a live duo concert featuring Roxanne and pianist John Kofi Dapaah. Held at Ottawa Pianos, the event welcomed a full house of music lovers, including local jazz and R&B artists.
The concert featured an eclectic mix of music—from jazz standards and R&B classics to hymns and spoken-word adaptations—all performed with a jazz sensibility and improvisational flair. Dapaah’s encouragement for the audience to “dance, clap, whatever makes you feel good!” set the tone for an engaging and participatory musical experience. The duo’s synergy reflects years of collaborative growth and mutual respect, qualities that lie at the heart of Confidence Booster’s mission.
Through concerts, studio recordings, and video series such as “A Jazzy Little Christmas”, Confidence Booster celebrates music’s power to connect, uplift, and build community.
